Supporting Musicians

In his first year of sobriety Anders, like so many other musicians who have struggled to stay sober, had to quickly get back on the road and start performing again. He was thrown back into bars, music halls and working at festivals day in and night out — testing anyone’s resolve to stay clean. So, Send Me A Friend is what Anders wished he had at the time – a national network of “sober friends” that are on call to come to a show and offer a helping hand and source of support for struggling musicians.  Our mission is to support newly-sober musicians and music industry professionals who are on the road to a new way of life by helping get them back to work again. NPR recently talked to Anders about this new program, how it works, and why it’s so powerful… read the full article HERE.

Building A Network

We are actively seeking volunteers with over one year of continuous sobriety.  These “Friends” will lend their services to a musician in need of a safe harbor and buffer from the temptations they face on the road. Being a friend will be on your terms – you can help as often or little as you would like and when your schedule allows.

Need A Friend?

We are accepting submissions for music people in need of our program: musicians, road crew, sound and production engineers, or anyone making their living in a music venue.

Text 504-214-9554 or email info@sendmeafriend.org to activate our network of sober “Friends” who are standing by to help serve as a safe buffer at your gig.
